ENJOYABLE, DELIGHTFUL READING

What a delightful, inbspiring story of a little lady primed to meet her heart's desire! Written in down to earth expressions makes it a good little book for an afternoon's relaxing read. Not a big book, but an inspiring one. Would be wonderful for preteen and teen girls.

If you love Julie, then this is the book for you!

If you are a girl who loves horses, racing, or wants to be a jockey, then this is the book for you! This book doesn't get way deep in the story of Julie's life so the book bores you to death, but it stays on top and basically outlines the goods and bads of Julie's extremely successful life. It is a great book for pictures and information. If you have read this book, or were going to read it, then I suggest you also look into getting Riding For My Life, a biography that goes a little deeper into Julie's heart and soul. I love this book, and I reccomend it to anyone who loves Julie Krone, but when I say that, I might as well be saying That I reccomend this book to everyone!

Can relate to this

As someone who has had several long distance relationships, most of which sputtered and failed because of lack of communication and unrealistic expectations of each other, I can assert that this book is right on the money! My husband and I were long distance dating one year and long distance engaged another, and I wish I had read this book WAY before we embarked on such a crazy relationship, because it would have saved us countless hours of uncertainty and arguments, and made our visits together much less stressful and more enjoyable! For those who are in a same situation, this is a must read book for you.

I would recommend this book to anyone involved in a long distance relationship.

We all know how hard long distance relationships can be. The stress they put on the two people involved can be enough to slowly deteriorate even the strongest bonds. In this helpful book, the author shows you how to avoid the pitfalls of any long distance relationship, and ways to actually strengthen your bond while being separated. I think it’s a great read full of helpful advice for any couple put in this type of situation. The fact that the author draws from her own personal experiences adds a level of personality to the writing that otherwise may not have existed.

Having been in a long distance relationship, I was curious about what the author would say or suggest. I was pleasantly surprised at the advice and tips on how to make this difficult personal arrangement work, and as the author was speaking about personal experiences, the advice given was realistic and doable. The writing is clear and precise and I have to say that had I read this earlier, I may have followed it. A good book for all looking for guidance into long distance relationships.

I was looking for a book on the use of Roslyn. I did not notice before pre-ordering that this book is listed as 105 pages long. The introduction to Roslyn starts at page 35. The figures are gigantic (I'm guessing because Apress won't publish a book under 100 pages). It reads like a blog post. At this price I am upset.

Great book

Love this book. Just starting to read it and it is full of good basic info. Easy to understand. and very helpful now that I have some experience with Nerve Conductions. Looking forward to learning lots more!

Good for novices

This minibook is good for beginners and it is also a small quick reference in EMG room for placements of the electrodes and normal values.However, it is very brief and will not give an extensive thorough explanation. I recommend it for beginners and technicians working in EMG room.

About the Author

Walter Laqueur was director of the Wiener Library and the Institute of Contemporary History in London. He was founder and editor of the Journal of Contemporary History and other publications. Laqueur taught at Georgetown, Harvard, the University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins, and Tel Aviv University.

An interesting holistic examination of terrorism

This book was first published in 1977, and has been republished with no apparent updating. The first chapter is a very short history of terrorism (19 pages). Chapter two looks at the history of the philosophy of terrorism, discussing terrorists from around the globe, through World War 2. Chapter 3 discusses the sociology of terrorism, examining the “who” and the “how.” The fourth chapter focuses on the interpretations of terrorism, that is how terrorism is seen and understood, both in non-fiction (political science for the most part) and in fiction.

I found this book to be a real mixed bag. Overall the author takes a holistic approach, which gave me the feeling that I now understand terrorism more deeply. Unfortunately, this approach also means that I do not feel like I learned much about the evolution of terrorism. The author moves from terrorist group to terrorist group often without giving any idea of the group’s context. Therefore, while this is a fascinating book, I do not consider it a good history of terrorism-it’s an examination of the forest that misses the trees.

So, overall, I give this book a highly qualified recommendation.
