Using top secret documents stolen from Russian archives, historian Pavel Stroilov, a Russian dissident living in London in political exile, has written a masterpiece on the behind-the-scenes politicking of the first Gulf War that exposes direct lies in the memoirs of President Bush Senior, Brent Scowcroft and James Baker, and explains the truth behind the current revolutions throughout the Middle East.
In addition to revealing a great number of never-before-seen top secret documents, Behind the Desert Storm delves into closed-doors discussions between world leaders - something that normally remains secret for a very long time. It tells the hidden history of the events which have largely determined the current state of the Middle East - from the conflict in Iraq to the Israeli-Palestinian ‘peace process’ to the development of the ‘Eurabia’ alliance between the EU and the Arab states. Looking forward, Stroilov draws out relevant lessons from history for future foreign policy.

Review
Stroilov has stolen one of the most fascinating archives in recent diplomatic history and has given us documentation for all those old assumptions - and much more. --The Washington Times
About the Author
Pavel Stroilov is a Russian historian living in London after being granted asylum by British Judges in 2006. He fled Russia in 2003 after successfully stealing 50,000 unpublished top-secret Kremlin documents from the archive of the Gorbachev Foundation. Stroilov and other researches were given access to the archive in 1999, but were brusquely refused permission by Mikhail Gorbachev himself to copy significant parts of the collection. Over the next few years, after secretly watching the archive's network administrator enter the password into the foundation's computer system, Stroilov was able to copy the archive and send it to secure locations around the world. Most of the originals remain classified to this day. Stroilov was also the editor of Alexander Litvinenko's book Allegations. Litvinenko, a fierce critic of Vladimir Putin, was poisoned to death in a high profile political assassination in 2006.

Read what world leaders are saying when they think you will never find out about it.

This book offers readers a front row seat to the backroom conversations between the heads of state and political players who shaped a world that now seems to be imploding in the Middle East. Anyone watching and trying to understand what's happening there today will want to read Behind the Desert Storm.
The Kremlin archives, quoted by the author, paint a very different picture of the impact Russia has had on the world than the one so often fed to us by the media. Russia is already becoming a topic of discussion in the 2012 US presidential election. With the current President assuring Russia that his reelection would allow for "flexibility," and one of the leading candidates to oppose him in November declaring Russia our "number one geopolitical foe," every US citizen ought to arm themselves with the facts detailed in Behind the Desert Storm.

Gorbachev Secret Documents Revealed
By Joan A. Adamak
Pavel claims to be a spy in that in 2003 he copied many documents from a computer under the control of the Gorbachev Federation. Repeating the words of the author: "During the final weeks, Gorbachev's aides took home top-secret archives of their better days: notes from Politburo meetings, transcripts of Gorbachev's talks with foreign leaders and countless confidential memos of all sorts. Copies of the same documents remained top secret in the official Kremlin archives. Behind closed doors, the Russian government was negotiating and making important decisions about the future of the world such as when Putin ordered Russian agents to murder a British citizen on British soil in 2006 by a radioactive terrorist attack. The Middle East is the most complicated region in the world. The policy-making on the Middle East has been monopolized by a narrow circle of specialists."
This book reveals the documents from Gorbachev's archive that relate to the Gulf War and more broadly to the Middle East at the final stage of the Cold War. The author states that the Middle East was an important front of the Cold War---second only to Europe. This non-fiction book sets out incidents and communications that occurred either in the Middle East or about the Middle East and how Russia had a finger in the pie. It is related in a history book type manner and will be interesting for all readers who have always wondered about some of the events of these times, which are even quite recent. Although we readers have to rely on the honesty of the author, there are facts related that make sense. I recommend this book.

Old, international fascism
By Mark Bernadiner
This book looks like a secong part of book "The Secret War Against the Jews". Vertually, the same players, EU, US and Russia, coocking a paln to eliminate Israel and Jews from the Eath using third party, in this case Sadam Husein and arabs, not Hitler, as a proxy assasines. I hialy recommend to read both books to understand the reality of the past and present international politics toward Israel and Jews. You will find not much difference between Gorbachev, Bush Sr, Brain PM and their counterparts from Nazi Germany.
